Rodolphe Scheel

Rod joined the team shortly after trying out the first prototypes. While making Evolutive or Mini-Mal, Rod had always envisioned to make a board that made surfing more accessible. A core soul surfer from way back, Rod was skeptical at first about the use of an engine on a board. However, with the equipment and materials in constant evolution, and the rapid changes seen in the water sports industry, Rod could only see the advantages and potential an electronic assistance could have on a well-shaped surfboard. With his experience and innovative eye, Rod has helped Kahe reach the level and quality of shapes that we had set for ourselves from the beginning of the project.

Rod has been surfing for 38 years and shaping for… 23 years. Rod has surfed pretty much everywhere in the world, but his passion for creating innovative custom designs to boards for the every-day surfer became obvious right away. By the time he was twenty years old, Rod had already developed into a full-fledged respectable shaper in France and abroad. From the beginning, Rod has known that the approach to surfing is not the same for everyone, especially in the challenging surfing conditions known in the Atlantic coast of France. Every surfer has a different height, weight, and style. Some are beginners, others are soul surfers or competitors.
Now based in Carcans-Plage on the West Coast of France, Rod has owned a shop and a surf school for over twenty years. Being at the heart of surfing in France for all these years, watching all types of surfers and listening to their feedback, Rod has always strived to make the ideal custom shape for each type of surfer and for every type of condition, from Shortboards to Paddle boards, including Fish, Evolutive, Guns, Longboards, and Tandems.
